Not only does this place have beautiful landscapes, but the Muong people still preserve many unique cultural features.
To get to Da Bia village (Tien Phong, Da Bac), visitors can travel by both waterway and road, both of which are very convenient. Visitors travel to Thung Nai port (Thung Nai commune, Cao Phong district) to board a boat and explore Hoa Binh lake – the largest hydroelectric lake in the country. After about 2 hours, visitors will arrive at Da Bia village.
If you go by road from the city. Hoa Binh through Da Bac town, visitors explore a long journey through many villages with green trees on one side and a vast hydroelectric lake on the other.
The life of the people in the village is very peaceful.
The houses of the families are all traditional Muong stilt houses, with a cool, airy view of the lake.
Bui Thi Nhem, one of the first people to do community tourism in Da Bia, said that in the past, Da Bia was a small hamlet with a few dozen households. Before there was a road, this place was an isolated oasis of mountains, forests and rivers. Realizing the potential for community tourism, many households in the village were supported to repair their houses to develop tourism. Although renovated, the houses of the households in the village still retain the original stilt house architecture and many amenities. Also from here, homestays were formed in the village to meet the needs of eating, sleeping, resting, and at the same time connecting and providing many experiential services to tourists.
The hospitality and sincerity of the people in Da Bia village make tourists feel close and dear like a member of the village.
Here there are beautiful walking paths through the forest with a clear stream flowing from the forest, attracting many people who want to cycle and enjoy the fresh air…
Coming here, besides the feeling of conquering nature, visitors can experience the cultural space and daily life of the indigenous people.
Visitors here can enjoy the specialties of the Muong people, mainly from self-sufficient sources such as free-range chicken, free-range pig, Da River fish, wild vegetables… processed with unique, strange, rich flavors.
Accommodation are carefully designed to make visitors feel comfortable after a day of exploring mountains, forests, and rivers.
Many cultural features of the Muong people are preserved by the people.
“Tu giac quan” is a unique cultural feature of the Muong people here. It is a unique form of selling, without a salesperson, which has aroused curiosity and left a strong impression on tourists. The people here said that this type of business has existed for a long time, becoming a source of pride and proof of the spirit of self-awareness and community cohesion. “Self-sufficient shops” often sell agricultural products such as sticky corn, bananas, sweet potatoes, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, wild vegetables, etc. Each basket has a price listed so that anyone passing by can take it home and voluntarily put money in the basket.
